Post-quantum coins
Coins that market themselves on post-quantum cryptography and the "bunker mode" debate. On 2026-10-07 Ethereum Foundation researcher Justin Drake posted a call for the industry to "calmly begin planning for 'bunker mode'", recommending a controlled mass migration of assets to fresh addresses whose public keys stay hidden behind a hash; coverage ties the call to AI-accelerated math breaking wallet cryptography. The same day Vitalik Buterin posted that he does not recommend scrambling to move funds today but that risks to cryptography from AI-accelerated math, next to quantum, should be taken seriously, and The Block reported Europol urging the industry to prepare for quantum threats. pqc.market describes launching pump.fun coins with hash-based post-quantum attestations (WOTS one-time keys, Merkle identities); its own coin PQC and the coins QI (Quantum Inu), Tardigrade, Quantcum and BNKR (Bunker Coin) say in their metadata that they launched with its post-quantum proofs, BUNKER (Bunker Mode) describes vaults with separate hash-based authorization, and Qhost (QHOST, on Robinhood Chain) calls itself a quantum-resistant launchpad whose coins sit behind keys a quantum computer cannot break. All seven pools were created after the 2026-10-07 posts. None is shown to be affiliated with Drake, the Ethereum Foundation or Europol, and the coins' security claims are not verified. Measured: seven coins across all their pools.
Collection paused: Replaced at the six-narrative cap by n-creator-fee-routing. It had the lowest 24h token volume of the six at discovery (about $1.42M, down from about $3.95M in the prior sample; Launchpad coins with on-chain rules was next at about $1.63M), against about $6.7M for the six fee-routing coins, and the new story is current (usepaid.app scraped 2026-10-13, @TeleMoneySOL posts 2026-10-10 to 2026-10-12, @PickACycle 2026-10-12). Post-quantum is above the $100K retirement threshold and its defining source (Justin Drake's 2026-10-07 "bunker mode" call, still discussed on 2026-10-12 and 2026-10-13, e1:7) has not gone away, so this is a cap replacement by the 24h rule, not a retirement for inactivity; flagged for the owner. What it is now
Observed Oct 12, 2026, 05:58 UTC.
Justin Drake (Ethereum Foundation researcher) posted on 2026-10-07 a call to calmly begin planning for "bunker mode" (migrating assets to addresses whose public keys stay hidden behind a hash); Vitalik Buterin posted the same day that he does not recommend scrambling to move funds today but that AI-accelerated math and quantum risks to cryptography deserve to be taken seriously; The Block reported Europol urging preparation for quantum threats. Business Insider quoted the call on 2026-10-08 and posts summarizing the debate were still appearing on 2026-10-12.
The cryptography-risk debate is real and still being discussed, and these coins market themselves on it. The coins are not shown to be affiliated with the people or agencies quoted, their post-quantum claims are their own and unverified, and the debate itself is about possible risks, not a demonstrated break. The coins' volume has fallen sharply since the first days.
